About the Project

The declining reading habits among children pose a significant concern. How can we effectively bolster children’s motivation to engage in more extensive reading? Aesop’s Adventures is a game, that adds AR interaction to Aesop’s fables. It contains a 3D AR character, Aesop, that is activated by scanning illustrations in the book. Aesop directs the reader through the app, quizzes and games that reflect the moral of each fable.

My Role

 

Technical limitations constrained the game’s scope and mechanics. As a student with limited resources, outsourcing was not possible, necessitating reliance on available online information and resources. The objective was to develop a Proof of Concept (POC) with potential scalability into a full-fledged app, featuring three functional games for the demo. My responsibilities encompassed designing the UX flow, creating illustrations and layout for the printed book, designing the 2D and 3D game environment, animating story characters, and developing the menu system and other UI elements, and recording the voiceover.
